lightningpilot said: Cars didn't win because it sucked! It couldn't hold a candle to any of the previous Pixar films due to its poor story and lack of heart. It was no more than a string of poorly done celebrity voice cameos. Monster House should have won because of its excellent story and animation. I have to admit, Happy Feet probably won because of its environmental message. Let's hope we don't see Happy Feet 2 next year.
Let's see, you are from Orlando and you register so you can post all of one comment, against Pixar. Hmmm, I would guess you are one of the Disney 3-D animators who was let go when Disney bought Pixar last year. So now you ae unemployed and bitter.
Because that's the only way you could say Cars wasn't amazing.
As a father of 2 children, I can't tell you how much I love watching the Pixar films with my kids over crap from DreamWorks and other non-factor studios. Seriously, did anyone even see The Wild or Barnyard?
And watching Cars with my son is something I will cherrish for years to come. After we watch it on DVD, we'll go on-line and research some of the old cars like the 71 Plymouth Superbird, the 51 Hudso Hornet or the Impala Lowrider.
After watching Happy Feet, what do you do with your kids (assuming you have any)? Maybe watch a Coke commercial? Hey look! More dancing penguins!!
And the story of Cars was very good. It wasn't simply a rehash of Doc Hollywood. If that was all you got out of it, then you missed the point of the film. It was about becoming obsolete and outdated. It was about the world forgetting all that you have contributed, be you a war vet, a Disney 2-D animator or a parent whose children grew up and left home.
Now maybe you just missed all this. Maybe you should stick to something simple like dancing flightless birds.
