Anticipation Level:
How excited (or not) I am to see this movie...
Kate Beckinsale is amazing in this movie, she(at the very least) should be given credit for being the only female in the movie to properly portray a transylvanian accent (granted hiding an italian or spanish accent while doing and trans one can be difficult) in my book she deserves her props! Jackman spends most of his time under a floppy dark hat, looking cool but really not doing much else. He has his comical moments and without him the movie would survive, but he adds star power something Kate doesnt quite have enough of (yet)

The major pro of this movie was a revival of the lost classic characters that are still so well known in modern times, we just haven't seen any decent movies about these creatures lately (especially frankenstein). I also found the CGI to be outstanding
The Hyde cgi was a good opener for helsing, kind of a warm up round to show the audience what hes capable of as the hero)
But I felt it was a little lame to have
Jackman turn into a werewolf and fight dracula at the end, it was just a battle of two huge cgi monsters, it was like watching a mortal kombat video game being played, lost intrest in it quickly as it was predictable
The vampire wives were in my view a lot creepier and vicious than Dracula himself as I found him to be to comical for a central villain, the wife that
outlives the other 2
had a chilling laugh (like a childs giggle with an odd shriek to it, not to mention the sidekick frier of Van Helsing did a decent job of putting in a few quick laughs where necessary.

The cons are obvious,
the best actress in the movie dies at the end, it was uneccessary in my POV
I also believe Jackman could have spent a little more time in action.
The frankenstein monster was fun to watch, but the green lights form his heart and brain were a bit to corny for my tastes
The
vampire offspring
were fun but there were way to many of them, there were thousands flying in the sky yet when theyr eached the town about 50 towns folk were attacked (im not even sure if that town had more than 50 people)

To be fair this movie does provide some thrill and serious depth of character in Van Helsing and Ann (not that it does much good now...), not to mention a few moments where it makes you literally want to jump out of your seat without a few suspensful moments. Its probably the best at the box office right now, but next week it wont be. A sequel would be great if they can find another actress as devoted as Kate was. Above all 3 out of 4 stars for the action, plot, and last but not least the true hero of the movie Kate Beckinsale!
