not_in_knight_rider.html

According to a scooper for Aint it Cool News, David Hasselhoff will no longer be starring in the Weinstein Cos Knight Rider pic.

The scooper says Hasselhoff is going around mentioning that hes in the film in an attempt to drum up interest. At the moment though, he is not involved in any capacity.

This isn't the first time that he has tried to launch interest in the movie behind Glen's [Larson] back. Hassellhoff made Knight Rider 2000 with Universal without Glen's involvement and we all know how well that went over right?

There is no legal obligation stating that Hassellhoff needs to be involved with the movie. If youre aware of the delicate relationship between David and Glen, you'll see why Glen isn't all that thrilled to invite David back, says the Aint it Cool News scooper.

A second scooper tells the site that Hasselhoff did contact Orlando Bloom about playing a role in the film, but this was quite some time ago before The Weinsteins snapped up the property. At one point, The Hoff was close to buying the rights away from Glen Larson. The Weinstein Company swooped in and bagged the rights for less than The Hoff was willing to pay. They secured the rights from Larson by promising him initial involvement in the project's development.

That would be kind of retarded not having Hasselhoff in the movie.

I'd prefer he had a cameo at the most. He still wanted to play Michael Knight and have Orlando Bloom play his son . He even said in an interview that K.I.T.T. would be a modern car but in the end they would use the original car and prevail. If you're going to make a new movie version of Knight Rider, make it new and not another episode of the show. Make it feel like a new movie and let new fans in on it rather than have people watch all the DVDs before going into the theater.

Hasselhoff starring in Knight rider is just a bad idea since he would turn it into a poor attempt to boost his career. Much like Knight Rider 2000 movie was an attempt to bring his career back while trying, unsuccessfully, to spawn a new Knight Rider show with a new star. The movie didn't get good rating so it was a no brainer for the execs to can the idea of making it a series.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the show and have all the DVDs but lets make it a new and fresh franchise.

Oh snap!! This thread just got served
