Speaking to the IESB, Pirates of the Carribean star Orlando Bloom revealed that hes just turned down an offer to star in the long-gestating Knight Rider film.

Upon hearing unsure where that he enjoyed his 80s adventure series, David Hasselhoff got in touch with the British actor.

"He'd heard I was a fan of the old show and said, 'We're doing the movie version and I'd love you to play my son in it.' I replied, 'Er, well, that sounds great, but you'd need to speak to my manager."

Hasselhoff indeed did get in contact with Blooms manager, but at the end of the day, the actor just wasnt interested in playing second fiddle to an unwaxed chest and constantly gabbing car. More so, he wasnt as big a fan of Knight Rider as he was, say, The A-Team, so didnt think it was right that an occasional viewer of the former headline a film version.

"I used to watch when I was eight but I didn't like it anymore than any other series, he said.

Haselhoffs been trying to get the Knight Rider film off the ground for eons. At one stage the project was set up at Revolution the home of such action franchises as the XXX series but when they went to contemporise the series to the point of extreme (K.I..T.T, the car, for instance wasnt going to talk in their film), The Hoff decided to find a new home for it. Its now being developed at The Weinstein Co.

Its believed Bob and Harvet have agreed to let Hasselhoff reprise his role as Michael Knight in the film something he insisted on to each studio that showed the slightest amount of interest.

"Knight Rider is a straight up knock-off from the television series and there is no authenticity there. However, due to my dwindling career as an actor, I will definitely be in that", the Hoff said recently.

Its believed that the actor has spoken to several young Hollywood heartthrobs including Paul Walker and Ashton Kutcher about playing his on-screen so. None have shown any interest. Hmmm. Whats Joey Lawrence doing these days?
