Each of the books has some unique qualities to it, and Dawn Treader was always my favorite of the books: It's a classic quest story with some interesting twists to it. It has a good linear story line, with plenty of opportunities to supply action sequences.
While I thought the first film was very good, the second fair as far as the re-telling, there's a lot more depth to the story in Dawn treader, too, to satisfy the purists. I think you can safely add in a lot of the moral-contextual messages, and not make it any less enjoyable, so I'm looking forward to it.
