The latest film to make use of Australia's lavish locales is FOX's "Aquamarine", and this week the Queensland Government announced some of the locations that the mermaid movie will truck itself to to shoot scenes.
The movie, about two teenage girls (Jo Jo, Emma Roberts) who discover a mermaid (Sara Paxton) in their beach club's swimming pool and help her find true love, is set to start filming in the last week of Feb.
Aside from shooting a punnett of scenes at Warner Bros Movie World on the Gold Coast, it'll also film at Sea World, Wet and Wild, Burleigh Heads, Shorncliffe and other beach settings. A beach club is being built for the movie at Tallebudgera.
"Queensland's track record as a film destination, combined with its world-class facilities, skilled crews, film-friendly policies and variety of locations has once again secured another impressive production for the state,' Says Queensland's Minister for the Arts Anna Bligh.
Elizabeth Allen directs the film.
