For the record, they were purposly made that way, and it became a tradition in the Godzilla series for future movies. It wasn't a mistake, and it's not a problem.

omg, yes he did, that series sucked LOLL
its like saying you want a sequel to the King Kong from the 40s, it was good back then, but no more puppets with lazar breath, plzz LMFAO

No offence to you, I'm just saying, with the special effects with have today, don't you want a REAL Godzilla? like, an actual Dragon with great effects? rather then a puppet? How could you guys rather that "Godzilla 2000" movie to the one from the 90s? I will nevverr understandd

the showa series godzilla movies are classics, you dont see me dissing gone with the wind or the wizard of oz.

godzilla was a breakthrough creation for its time. the monsters looked real and werent portrade with fakey stop motion like the original king kong.

and another thing, godzilla was not a "puppet" he was a man in a suit.

and the japaneze godzilla is the "real godzilla" as you put it. roland wanted to make his better by making it a whole new monster and calling it "godzilla" because he thought the original was imperfect. have you seen any g movies from the 90s? they have pretty good effects and it doesnt even look like a man in a suit.

yeah im all for CGI, but if you have to make a CGI godzilla, actually make him look like godzilla, not some irradiated iguana.

Hey, I agree with you, I'm with you 100%, and I'm not dissing them per-say, Only if they keep being made, I mean, they are Re-making Wizard of Oz, maybe Godzilla needs to be remade too, with the new potentials of today. It just puzzles me that theres this character, who's supposedly a Dragon that fights these other beasts right in the middle of a big city and his still being made with a guy in a suit when they could totally bring it the this year and make him totally awesome.

The real Godzilla is a radioactive T-Rex or a Godzillasaurus not a mutated Komodo Dragon and he feeds on nuculer energy and no damn missles are gonna kill him.

I liked that movie but so many things where wrong with it.

ok, I agree with you but their escape goat was that this wasn't the "real" Godzilla, only because an Asian man called it by that name, it gave the title to the movie, so, if you see it as that, as "another" creature, I think its alright, I enjoyed it allot at the time.

But back on topic, I just feel like it would be cool to see a "Radioactive T-Rex" in all its glories, the movies are classics, no doubt, King Kong (40s) was a classic too but only because they were the best of that time, now we can do better, so I just think we should.

yeah, i know and understand that the classic movies were made that way for a reason (and lets be honest their only other option was stop motion photography) but i think we could use CGI (must be done perfectly and not retarded looking) to further enhance the big G

[/quote] I know that's the story. Though it is intended to be a hollywood remake. But the fact is Godzilla is a cult icon they even have a star for him on the Hollywood walk of fame. And fan's are generly be upset about a movie that seems to just piss all over the real thing.

When's the last time you saw a Godzilla film? Did you even see Godzilla 2000. The only thing wrong with the Godzilla films now is the dubbing. A man in a suit that got CG FX added works just fine. The aliens in the Alien films are men in suits.

I actually enjoyed the Godzilla movie from 1998. I never really understood the "fan outrage" or whatever. And if I remember correctly, it was a pretty big financial hit as well. Far more than any previous Godzilla movies.

I'm right there with you. That movie was really great.

But it wasn't right to market the movie as a Godzilla one. It was a far stretch from what the fans were expecting. I'm not a Godzilla fan, so me liking the 98 movie might not matter.

Plus, I'm having a strange feeling that this century is gonna have a closet full of reboots and remakes.

yes that was weird, the original godzilla had several "kids" but it was never explained where they came from. it was implied that they were adopted.

If I recall correctly, the movie made $120 million. At that time, that was pretty good. As for what a "real" Godzilla is supposed to look like, I was just glad it wasn't a guy in a rubber suit.

well so far they are the only ones that know how to make a godzilla film right. i just want one with american actors so we dont have to deal with the horrible dubbing job we do to them.

I don't think we need another Godzilla - leave it to the Japs they can have to big lizard all to them selves .

well so far they are the only ones that know how to make a godzilla film right. i just want one with american actors so we dont have to deal with the horrible dubbing job we do to them.

could always do the European (at least i know Croatia does this) thing and have subtitles

yeah but i think that would even be buggier because you would be paying attention to reading and not whats happening on the screen.

If they do a reboot of Godzilla, I hope they at least have the anatomy of the creature consistent with what it's supposed to be. In the old movies, Godzilla was supposed to be a dinosaur, but he had pentadactyl feet (five toes) like modern lizards and then in the 1998 version he was supposed to be an iguana, but he had birdlike tetradactyl feet and stood hunched over like a dinosaur. Sometimes it bothers me when filmmakers clearly have no idea what they're doing.

"I seek faith in the unfaithful just as you seek peace and atonement in a war-torn world."

"The common wit is not fair to middling."

"Laugh at me all you want, one day you'll all be kissing my feet."

"Young age is no excuse for poor taste."

"To be a prep is to be blissfully unaware of one's own mediocrity."

Yeah but the best thing to do would be to send the American actors to Japan & set it in Japan using Japanese directors & crew but focus on some American tourists that get caught up in a Godzilla attack....that might work .
