The Spyker C8 Laviolette (chassis number 015) will play a prominent role in the MGM/Sony sequel Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction, which starts shooting this week at London's Pinewood Studios and on location in the U.K. The car features a glass canopy (much like a jet fighter) and the doors open upwards like the Delorian in the "Back to the Future" movies.
Written by Leora Barish and Henry Bean, the London-set sequel finds Catherine Tramell (Sharon Stone) on the wrong side of the law. She meets a man who might finally be her match: The criminal psychologist (David Morrissey) assigned to evaluate her by Scotland Yard. Charlotte Rampling plays a psychiatrist friend of Morrissey's character, with David Thewlis playing a police officer.
German car magazine Auto Motor Und Sport says the Dutch company Spyker will be providing the studio with four cars - one will be "destroyed" during the movie, one will be underwater and one will be driven (+ one spare).
