March 12, 2002 — Fox has acquired the feature film rights for "DragonBall" -- best known as "DragonBall Z" on the Cartoon Network -- for development into a franchise of live-action films at Fox 2000. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the studio has not decided whether to shoot sequels concurrently (a la Lord of the Rings), and no writer or director have been attached yet.
this movie needs to be made. not only for the sheer monetary volume that will be accumulated from it, but its something that the fans want. not doing this movie would be a foolish mistake that would haunt them forever
