Even though here in the United States, Dragonball Evolution was a massive flop hated by everyone but the most self-loathing of Dragonball fans, it's getting a sequel. James Marsters, who played the villain Lord Piccolo in the first film, confirmed the rumors in an interview with a fansite. Marsters says that after his upcoming concert tour, "we'll start shooting the second Dragonball movie. I've just heard that I can actually tell that there is going to be a sequel."

Even the Dragonball fan community seems less than enthused by this announcement. The question everyone seems to be asking is: "Why god why?!". Here's why:

Dragonball Evolution made only a miserable $9 million dollars, total, domestically. Unfortunately it seems international audiences are a little less savvy than American crowds. Overseas this bright and shining turd made $45 million. In particular it was big in both Japan and China. Meanwhile Fox spent almost no money at all advertising it and the cast was comprised mainly of genre television castoffs, so its not like they spent anything on salaries. There's a chance that it may actually have made a profit and of course Fox assumes that if people in China watched this **** the first time there's every reason to think they'll happily watch more of it.

It's Asia that's to blame for this sequel tragedy so here's my suggestion: Keep it out of America. No one wants it, it wastes space in our movie theaters and seeing the Dragonball Evolution name followed by a number 2 on our marquees would only be a depressing reminder that it's now China's mental midgets, not ours, who control which shitty movies Hollywood will make. Make it if you must, but don't bother releasing it here. Dragonball is Asia's Larry the Cable Guy and we already have our own Larry the Cable guy. We don't need someone else's.

We get sequels to unholy crap like this yet we can't get a sequel to things like Serenity and other worthy films. Hell Fox, I'd take F4 3 over this garbage, and that's saying something.

The sayains have finally come to earth (again... because one fought with piccolo thousands of years ago right?) to find and kill Goku but before that happens they toy with his life while undercover... Marsters is smoking crack again.

Steve called Fox reps and they claim there has been no final decision on a sequel to Dragonball. Told them about the Marsters interview and they said they don't know where he got his info from but it was not them.

Come to think of it, so far, every single article that mentions a sequel has been from interviews with Marsters. Can anyone dig something up that didn't come from his mouth??

I'd like to make demands of Twentieth Century Fox to do a rerun of the movie, but in Dvd.

I would like to replace him at the institute by the Tournament Boudokai with the best martial artists and especially to have more battles, at least 4 major battles should be in the movie.

And the final battle between Piccolo and Goku are much flatter than last.

And I wear the mystic of the series and the characters mostly missing Krillin that never should have been removed.

The story should have started with Krillin and Goku training with Roshi, before going to the tournament. And it starts.

Les exijo a la Fox una reposicisn de Dragonball, que sustituyan el instituto por un Torneo de Artes Marciales con lo mejorcito del mundo.

Incluyendo Krillin, Ten Shi han. Y me pongan todo lo Mmstico que no pusieron, y tambien quiero 4 batallas importantes, Y la batalla de Piccolo y goku final mas larga.

La pelicula deberia durar por lo menor 2 horas yy media. y un Pg- mas alto.

Y ademas me gustaria ver a Goku y Krillin entrenando con El Geni Tortuga, cuando eran jovencitos, los dos juntos. Todo eso antes del torneo.

Y luego quiero ver como Goku ve alejarse a su mejor amigo que va en busca de la dragonball que Piccolo le robs y que asesinaron a Krillin vilmente..

Quiero ver a Krillin.
