Will Smith and Alex Proyas have been checking out Fox Studios, Sydney, with the possibility of filming a sequel to I Robot there next year.
Proyas was apparently against doing a sequel, he doesnt really like doing sequels to any of his movies actually, but having seen how well the films done in just a short amount of time has him thinking otherwise now.
Talking at a news conference earlier this week, Smith says If I,Robot continues to be successful, we will probably be here next year," Smith said. "I love the idea. I loved working with Alex so I,Robot II or anything he is willing to make (I would do)."
I Robot topped the US Box office on the weekend, raking in $US52.3 million in ticket sales. Smith tells The Herald Sun that the next weekend will be the deciding weekend on whether a sequel happens or not. "It is the second weekend that will make the decision. We're very happy with the opening, but the movie has to have really long legs."
Me too and I pray that with all the potential and talent Alex Proyas has he will succeed in sticking to the book and replace the actress who played Dr Susan Calvin. She is a good actress but does not fit at all in the character.
Yeah, I hope too that they're going to make a sequel, because I, Robot has become my favorite movie after the three Lord of the Rings. I'd be the first one to see this!
