when i saw the trailer for this movie i immediatley thought of the AniMatrix. Like how that one robot killed its master, and then thats what caused the machines to rebel and stuff. well yea it just looked sooooo similar to that. does anyone else agree????

hahahaha NO WAY!! Izaac Asimov wrote I, Robot more than 10 years before the Matrix was even thought of!!! If anything, the matrix stole the themes from Izaac Asimovs novel. Asimov books are in history the earliest fictional writings about robots!!!!!

It may work with the matrix though. the basic theme behind I, Robot is that humans have reliable devices which human beings co-exist with and utilize but these devices may go wrong & not obey their primary programing directives. This leads to chaos.....

This will be better than the Matrix. I liked the original Matrix but Reloaded and Revolutions just didn't equal the first one.

yerrr this movie is going to be awesome. But i don't know if we can even relate it to the matrix. It going to be different. Maybe more like Blade Runner or something.....

I likes reading Asimovs short stories. He does like this science fiction detective thing. All the answers occur in science. gezzz that sound like CSI. hehe

Thank you! That's exactly what I've always said; I'm glad somebody agrees with me. I thought Revolutions was pretty good, and Reloaded had a few decent parts, but neither one of them even came close to the original.

As for I, Robot, I think it will be an incredible movie, and it's one of the top movies I want to see this year, along with The Village, Spider-man 2, and Alien VS Predator.

We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off. -Tyler Durden, "Fight Club"

Has anyone seen the outer limits episodes that were based on I Robot. the first one aired on November 14, 1964. a remake was aired on July 30, 1995. both episodes starred Leonard Nimoy.

I, Robot was first published in the 1950's, and probably could be called the model by which many stories of human/robot interaction have been derived.

Asimov was one of the pioneers of "thinking person's" science fiction.

However, this bear little resemblance to the gentle story he created.

Wait and see.

To Rostron2:

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately we live in a society that measures movie success in megatons. No time and no space for toughts movie.

Nestor, and Rostron:
Seems like us three are the only ones around here who respect original literater and know the origins of a good story.
