Alright, I watched the midnight screening of RE3 and I LOVED IT. Here's the good and the bad:
The Good: The special effects are amazing, and the desert environment even more so. As I said above, I saw the midnight screening, and it was PACKED! That bodes well for RE3 in the box office, and I really got to see and hear the audience's reactions to the movie. There were 3-4 times when everyone was clapping and hollering, and the saddest part of the movie (in my opinion), was also the funniest. I think when you see the movie you'll know what scene I'm talking about.
The Bad: Alright; I heard that this movie had new monsters players of the game would recognize, and that is WRONG. There are no lickers (sad), no Hunters, no Neptune, etc. All we got were crows...but that's ok. When I said the special effects were amazing, I am excluding parts of the crows scene. Some small parts of the scene with the birds didn't look so good. The actor playing Wesker, in my opinion, could have done better. Maybe it was his voice, or his hair, or whatever, but I just didn't think he did a good Wesker. And Tyrant isn't as cool as he could've been. I think RE2 (although the worst movie in the series) did great with Nemesis, but this movie's boss wasn't as...awesome. THe original RE will always be the best to me, but this is a good way to end the series...if this series is over. Which I hope it's not.
My overall grade for this movie: A-
(I gave RE1 an A+ and RE2 a B if that helps for comparisons)
