I haven't seen any new news about the Myth, if it's coming out in America, and news about JC's upcoming projects.

PS: LClem if you read this, I'm getting closer to getting those magazine subscriptions.

Sorry! Here I am...not much news but word on the street is that Myth is heading for a September release. No word yet if it's an Asian or US release time frame tho. It may well be US as it was mentioned in an article about Chan selling his home in Beverly Hills (it was a US news site)

Awesome your back!

*Hugs LClem*

I really hope it's a US release, we need this from him. Is it almost positive that NPS wont be released in America?

Also why did he sell his home in Beverly Hills, is he gonna live in China now or somewhere else in America?

Well he only used the home in LA 6 weeks out of the year. It was mainly his family's place (wife and son who was raised there) Now that his son is working on his own carreer in Hong Kong (with Mom as manager) the house is pretty much empty all the time. And why pay taxes on a 5 bedroom mansion. But Jackie is far from homeless LOL. He owns property in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and elsewhere (plus the offices of JC Group also have a small appartment where he spends time as well.

Well there have been rumors that Miramax bought it, which I hope are not true. If Paramount buys it, that would be MUCH better as they are not as likely to changethe film as drasticaly as the edit happy idiots at Mira-axe

That's true Mira-axe does tend to do that. It's good JC is working on Hong Kong projects, his America's films are very good, but they didn't seem as good as his old Hong Kong stuff.

PS: Hey LClem I'm breaking my parents down and they should say yes about getting Jade Screen or Power Screen anyday now.

^
(thank god you told me about that site LClem, if it wasen't for you and that site, I probably wouldn't have got my NPS and Police Story trilogy DVD's)

I'm thinking of getting:

Crime Story (Never seen it)
Drunken Master (Saw it)
Accidental Spy (Never saw it)
Vampire Effect I & II (Never saw it)
and a movie called Project A (don't know much about it)

Crime story is VERY good (another drama which got him a Golden Horse award for his acting) and it's also the only time you'll ever see him get kissed by another man. (Don't panic, it was just Ken Low as a baddie, forcing one on him to intimidate his character . And Ken Low's "kiss" looks more like he's gonna swallow his head..think grouper kissing a minnow LOL) Ken Low is a long time bodyguard/ stunt team member as well as one of JC's best buddies. I doubt Jackie would have done the scene with any other actor. (His pic is below as we featured him in Jade Screen. I wrote a bio on him as well for the issue.)

Accidental spy is a great one so long as it is the HK version not the US butcher job. It features Jackie fighting in a marketplace while totally nude while trying to keep covered with various things he finds in the shops along the way. Vampire Effect 1 & 2 are only Cameos. if you must get one of them, get 2. It's not a sequel anyway and it features an incredible fight with weapons (and a lot of CGI) against the wonderful Donnie Yen. The film also features choreography by Corey Yuen (Jackie's opera brother and long time Jet Li choreographer. Project A is a MUST HAVE. It features Jackie with Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao. Also it's the first time Jackie ever did major stunts. The clock tower is a classic. If you like that one go get Project A 2 as well.

Oh I understand the kiss thing, it's like the kiss of death or something. I don't think I'll get VE 1 or 2. I'm probably gonna get Crime Story, Accidental Spy, and the Project A Boxset. And even though I saw it once or twice, I want to get

Nic Tse has been working on a film (the title escapes me, sorry) and recently released another album. Jaycee Chan is working on a film called "Precocious" (Actually the literal translation for the film's title is "Early Maturation" LOL) and for the film he has finally cut his hair! He looks a lot better.

The Nic Tse Film is called Journey West. cast includes Patrick Tam Yiu Man, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, Isabella Leung Lok Si, Fan Bingbing, Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin, Chen Bo-Lin (Chan Pak Lam), Boy'z and new comer Dai Jiaoqian.

As for Jaycee's film:
It's said to be a romantic light drama mixed with humor.
"The film will have a touch of comedy, but is mostly a story of a budding romance between a pauper played by Jaycee and a young woman from a wealthy family played by Fiona Sit and their parents in the movie having to come to terms with the reality of their children growing up into adulthood."

Not sure what Jaycee's next move (or movie) will be. Im kinda surprised that he's doing another film so soon, since he originally was going to focus on a music career. But Hong Kong being what it is, there's almost no such thing as a singer that does not act or an actor that does not sing (apart from Jet Li who swears he is tone deaf!)
No word on The Promise coming to the US. Thanks to House of Flying Daggers however, some interest has been generated in stars like Andy Lau. Direct TV was actually offering the HK version of Infernal Affairs as a pay per view!(If you have a chance to see it, please do! An amazing bit of film about a good cop who infiltrates a HK triad while a triad is in the police force.) I shudder to think what Leo DiCaprio is going to do to that film when it's remade. Last I heard its going to be about Irish gangs in Boston! Hopefully tho these films will spur a little more interest in other HK actors like Tse and Cecile Cheung

irish gangs in boston

leo dicaprio

They better not do that. I think American should try and like HK movies how they are and watch them. They might like them.

No word on the promise yet, that's ok.

And what about a movie called 2046 coming out in this US? what's that about?

2046 might have a chance at coming to the US, if not in mainstream theters, at least art houses. It was supposed to be a sequel to "In the mood for love" which starred Tony Leung (Gorgeous) and Maggie Cheung (from Police Story 1, 2, and supercop) But the plot was changed several times and now it barely resembles the first. The official synopsis goes like this...
"He was a writer. He thought he wrote about the future but it really was the past. In his novel, a mysterious train left for 2046 every once in a while. Everyone who went there had the same intention.....to recapture their lost memories. It was said that in 2046, nothing ever changed. Nobody knew for sure if it was true, because nobody who went there had ever come back- except for one. He was there. He chose to leave. He wanted to change."

Kung Fu Hustle should be released here. Its a comedy by Stephen Chau, same actor/director that did the hilarious Shaolin Soccer. Columbia is releasing this one since Chau was NOT happy with the way Mira-axe butchered Shaolin Soccer, so it should be good.
I'll letcha know what else is coming as I hear news.
