I finally got to see Iron Man just now and i made sure to look and it is 100% a Captain America Prototype Shield theres no denying it, it's just that photo it bad quality....im pissed uz i wanted to stay for the Nick Fury scene but my friends wanted to leave and have a cig so i wasn't gonna wait....guess ill go back tommorow

i just saw this again on friday night and i have to say that it really does look like cap's shield. you can't tell from that pic but in the movie it's red, white and blue.

This seems to be a popular rumor aound the web. One site even rumored that Stark would sell the shield to S.H.I.E.L.D. for Cap to use. I'll have to look out for it next time I see the film. . .

But doesnt Cap already have his shield when he's frozen?

Like im hearing rumors that in the Capt. America movie, in the end when they find him in the ice, Ironman says "welcome to the 21st century" or something like that. So wouldnt he have the shield on him?

I don't know much about comics, and very little about Captain America, but from what I know thanks to Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Captain America looked more like this


I don't think that shield would be used for throwing (again, I don't know) so maybe Stark has one that can be used for throwing and is more durable and stuff.

Then again, they could just be changing the origins a little.

Even if Stark had the shield, the only reason I could see him using it is analyzing the material it's made out of to make his armor near indestructible like Cap's shield is.

Sorry friend.

If you're referring to that disc apparatus at the left of the shot, that is not Cap's shield.

The only shields we saw in that movie was the agent and Mr. Nick Fury at the end (bad pun, I know).

When Cap first started out that was how his shield looked.
But years later a scientist named Myron McClain was experimenting with vibranium and other metals and in an accident created a concave disk with it's exact composition unknown. That disk was later painted up and given to Cap by the U.S. government to use as his shield. McClain's attempts to recreate that particular mix resulted in the invention of admantium.
That's how it happened. I think that if they show him using the old shield shaped design, he probably won't be throwing it too much.
