August 4, 2001 — Rush Hour 2 has only just opened in theatres and there's already talk of another sequel.

"We would like to see what happens with part two--how successful it is, what the reactions are, how much it's accepted--and then we'll concentrate on part three. I'm hoping 2 will be bigger than the first one. I feel it will be--it's better than the first. It's a better movie; it's funnier; it's bigger."
