What's it about? A law school student enlists in World War II only to find himself a prisoner of the enemy. In the POW camp, he finds himself defending a black prisoner on the charge of murder. The murder in question was of a fellow soldier who happened to be a racist -- and also happened to be the prime suspect in the murder of the only other black soldier in the camp. As serious as all this is, it's a convenient front to distract the Germans while the prisoners plan their escape. (This is based on the novel of the same title by John Katzenbach.)
